Huawei won the GSMA GLOMO award for Outstanding Mobile contribution
Last week, at MWC Barcelona 2024 Huawei and BJFF won the GSMA GLOMO Award for the Outstanding Mobile Contribution to the UN SBGs with the AI-powered solution designed to prevent the extinction of Norway’s wild Atlantic salmon. Well, Huawei is known for its technologies and innovative ideas.

An underwater camera and an algorithm-controlled gate direct fish to swim through a tunnel spanning a river. Different types of fish can be identified using the algorithm, including the distinctive hump of humpback salmon males and the tail pattern of females. Using an identification accuracy rate of over 99%, the system instructs the gate to remain closed while allowing other fish to swim upstream.
