Counterpoint Q1 2024 report: Huawei rated best performer
In smartphone technologies, China always takes a standard place in terms of digitalization, and improvement in design, features, and operating system. Well, in the meantime Huawei led the performance report of Counterpoint of Q1 2024. According to China’s smartphone sales market, Huawei gets the title of best performance among all OEMs.
However, Huawei made the largest contribution to making China’s smartphone sales grow 1.5% compared to the Q1 2023 counterpoint repost. However, this is because of the successful launch of the 5G -capable Mate 60 smartphone series in the market.

Notably, the first quarter of 2024 is the most competitive ever having approx 3% points cut off from the top six players in terms of smartphone shares. Let’s check the number of other OEMs in the competition to know the market values.
Vivo:
- Vivo ranked as the top spot this quarter with 17.4% with the help of Y35 Plue and Y36 models in the low-end segment. And S18 in the mid-range segment.
Honor:
- Honor ranked second with a 16.1% share
Apple:
- Apple sales were subdued during the quarter with 15.7% share

Momentum seems to be building on a recovery as China’s smartphone sales continued their growth trajectory and grew 4.6% QoQ in Q1 2024. The sales promotions during the Chinese New Year festivities were the biggest growth driver.
